The WJACC Street Ministry Team is a fairly new organization that had its first official outreach on October 25, 2008. At its core, WJACC Street Ministry is geared towards getting young teens into uncomfortable situations and meeting and loving the less fortunate people in the greater Jacksonville area right where they are. We do all of this in hopes to build friendships, to get out of our comfort zones, to see the world from the positions of those less fortunate, to build the kingdom of God and to get even more on fire for God. It’s our goal to be a generation who stands for Christ and shares the faith and knowledge of Him to the ends of the earth. Our verse we stand on by faith is Matthew 10:8 (The Message) "Don't begin by traveling to some far-off place to convert unbelievers. And don't try to be dramatic by tackling some public enemy. Go to the lost, confused people right here in the neighborhood. Tell them that the kingdom is here."

Upcoming Events

• May 16 - Church Leaders Outreach (Open) 
This outreach is in the planning stages...We are hoping to get leaders in the church to volunteer for one day to serve downtown. Each church leader will be paired with a youth member, split into two groups of seven-eight people, and will then serve the homeless in the downtown area. This outreach is specified to board members, pastors, Sunday School teachers, and of course, youth members! We are very excited about this outreach and we hope that you can join us!

• June 27 - Open to Everyone (Open) 
If you are at least 15 years of age, and have ever wanted to hit the streets with the ministry this is your outreach. On June 27th we are going to be taking 14 people of all ages to the streets for an AMAZING time with Christ and his people. Every time we hit the streets we never know who Christ will lead us to, or what direction he will guide us to, we just GO! Now if you are truly excited to spread the love of Christ and meet him face to face sign up now for this outreach, spots will fill up fast.

• July - Outreach (Open) 
Date to be announced. Check back soon for details...

• August - College Age Outreach (Open) 
This outreach is still in the planning stages but our vision for this outreach is to take out up to 8 college age adults to the streets of downtown. We will catch the bus right in front of the church around 4 PM and have the chance to witness to people not only on the bus, but at every stop we make along the way. Once we reach downtown we will canvas the streets with one goal in mind and that's to share the love and faith of Christ. After we catch our bus back to church around 8 PM we can gather for a reflective time to share our thoughts and our praises from that days outreach. This outreach is designed to reach the those in need, build friendships and most of all to build the Kingdom of Christ. So if you are of college age and feel the need to stretch our faith by reaching others sign up now for this outreach.
